Are your lips parched? Do you know why your lips are often dry and rough, it's mainly due to lack of moisture. Well, why should we use lip balm for this?

Is lip balm necessary?

Lip balm will provide moisture to your lips help remove the effects of sun exposure and keep your lips hydrating throughout the day. For this, it is necessary to use lip balm daily and make your lips moisturized and hydrated. If u do so, you will be surprising seeing your lips shiny and glowy!

Why homemade lip balm?

Many lip balms are easily available in the market. But do u know if it is available without chemicals, it is not? This is why we can easily make ‘homemade lip balm’ at home with natural ingredients without using any kind of chemicals. We can make many types of homemade lip balms with our favorite ingredients. Since it is made with our favorite ingredients, we can use it safely without any hesitation or fear. In this article, we will see how to make a ‘DIY natural homemade lip balm’ with only shea butter, beeswax, and coconut oil without adding any kind of chemicals to it.

The process of making this lip balm is very simple and can be done in a very short period. I suggest you choose small air-tight containers for better storage and fragrance.  You can also add essential oils ( sweet orange, peppermint essential oil, eucalyptus, etc,.) for extra fragrance. Let's see how to make the homemade lip balm using Shea butter, beeswax, and coconut oil.

Ingredients:

  • Shea butter
  • Beeswax
  • Coconut oil
  • Essential oil (optional)
  • Vitamin E oil (optional)

Preparation of homemade lip balm:

Heat an inch of water in a pan over medium heat

Place a small heatproof jar in the boiling water or use a double boiler

Add Shea butter, beeswax, and coconut oil to it and melt slowly. Keep mixing by stirring until the beeswax melts completely.

After all the ingredients are completely melted, turn off the stove and leave the jar in it to keep warm

Now add your required essential oil and stir well. In addition you can also add Vitamin E oil.

Take the necessary air-tight container to store the lip balm and clean it well. Make sure it is free of any dust

While it is in liquid form, add the lip balm slowly to the container and seal it with the lid before it gets hardened.

Leave it for a few hours and then store it in a cool, dry place for up to a year.

I recommended to store it in a fridge for a better shelf life.
